Ok, you have 2 methods of regenerating the battery on the LinVolt. By built-in fossil fuel motor generator, and by the brake regeneration. I read someone had posted an idea for solar cells to help also. My idea of extra method of battery regeneration would be using wind. Think of it as a cylindrical blade system placed where a spoiler is usually located. The faster you go the faster the blades turn.
This new tech is already here but it is used for houses and others, so it is quit big. I got the Idea from this site: http://www.broadstarwindsystems.com/products.php
But my idea is to shrink that and put in on the rear spoiler area. my friend helped me make a Photoshop of what i had in mind using your LincVolt image. I will try to attach it to this post, but it seems it is a link bassed image insert. so if you can send me an email i will send the image since I do not have any sites to upload images.
Also, you could check out this company, they have a new wind generator design which is much more efficient for windmills, if we can shrink that also it will help:

If this turns out to be a good idea, do not keep it for yourselves; spread it around so we can finally be "Living In The Free World".
May God be with you.
